Position Overview

We have a Permitting Coordinator position available within Environmental Performance. This full-time role offers a competitive salary of up to £30,000 - £34,462 per annum plus excellent benefits. The role involves managing Environment Agency permits for wastewater discharges affected by Capital schemes, ensuring permit accuracy and compliance, and liaising with the Environment Agency regarding South West Water’s Water Industry National Environment Programme.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan and organize the environmental permitting process for all relevant engineering projects from concept to completion.
  2. Collect accurate site data and provide it to the Environment Agency for discharge permit updates.
  3. Provide technical support for interactions between engineering project managers and the Environment Agency concerning project delivery and water quality interests.
  4. Track delivery, permitting, and annual Environment Agency sign-off of Water Quality projects within the Water Industry National Environment Programme.
  5. Maintain effective records related to environmental permitting for engineering projects.
  6. Support the Environmental Permitting Team as needed.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Technical experience in wastewater or civil engineering.
  • Skill in coordinating and tracking multiple deliverables and reporting on them.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Awareness of relevant environmental regulations and permits.
