Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Shrewsbury

Type: Small Animal

Location: C irca 40 minute commute of Shrewsbury

Practice Type: Independent Practice - Well-established single-site practice (no branches) in a semi-rural location with a very varied caseload. The practice prides itself on exceptional high-quality service and its approachable, friendly manner.

They believe communication with clients is as important as the veterinary treatment they receive.

Facilities: Well-equipped lab, usual diagnostic equipment, hydrotherapy treadmill, and complementary therapies.

Team: They currently are a 2 Vet / 3 RVN practice with a fun, family feel. Fantastic team of support staff and RVNs who all look out for each other.

Role: The practice is ideally looking for a fully qualified, RCVS-registered, experienced Small Animal Vet to join their team.

Duties: Within your role, you will be given autonomy and clinical freedom, as well as the capacity to grow and develop particular interests. You will have the opportunity to work up your own caseloads, from beginning to end, whilst building rapport with customers.

Hours:

  • The role is offered on a full-time, permanent position, 8:30 am-6:30 pm over 4 days per week, (part-time hours are negotiable).
  • NO OOHs, Sundays, or Bank holidays, but you are expected to join the Saturday rota every other weekend, 8:30 am-12 noon.
  • This practice values work-life balance.

Skills/Exp: The practice is ideally looking for a fully qualified, RCVS-registered, experienced Small Animal Vet to join their team. Experience of 2 plus years is advantageous due to some sole charge on weekend rotas, however, New Graduates would be considered as well as part-time applicants.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A true team player.
  • Motivated, extremely well organised, and able to prioritise their own workload.
  • Be caring and understanding.
  • Be able to work on your own initiative and be proactive.

Salary: Competitive Salary - Between £35,000-£65,000 p/a Depending on experience
