Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Dorchester

Type: Small Animal

Location: Dorchester

Practice Type: Part of a group

Facilities/Services: The practice is purpose-built with great facilities including an operating theatre, two dedicated consult rooms, a nurse consult room/x-ray room, and all the essential equipment expected from a solid GP practice including a new digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab equipment, and full multi-parameter monitoring equipment. They are open to discussing investment in additional equipment based on your areas of interest.

Team Info: You’ll be working alongside the Clinical Lead and Practice Owner, as well as a four-strong, experienced, and forward-thinking nursing team including RVN, Practice Manager, and four incredible receptionists. Their team is always looking for new ideas to enhance the practice and provide excellent clinical care and client service to their loyal and growing client base.

The Role: The ideal candidate will be experienced and confident with routine neutering, procedures, and emergency and critical care. Although not for large portions of your overall rota, you should also be comfortable with periods of sole charge.

Hours:

• They are happy to consider applications from full or part-time vets, focusing on creating a rota and workplace that allows flexibility, enjoyment, and growth both clinically and non-clinically.
• There is no out-of-hours requirement, and they are closed on Sundays, allowing everyone to make the most of life outside of work!
• Days are structured with 15-minute consults as standard, with time allocated for lunch and admin. The team meets regularly to discuss issues and progress in patient and client care, maintaining an open and flexible approach.

Salary: A competitive salary of up to £50,000-£70,000 per year, dependent on experience (FTE).

• 5.6 weeks annual leave as standard (pro-rata for part-time).
• RCVS and VDS memberships are paid, along with the opportunity to have one other membership covered.
