Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Broxbourne

Type: Small Animal

Location: Broxbourne area of Hertfordshire

Practice:

  • A well-established independent small animal practice in Hoddesdon is seeking a skilled and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join its expanding team.
  • The practice currently consists of two full-time veterinarians, three nurses, and two receptionists, with plans to welcome a new Practice Manager and an additional vet.
  • The lead veterinarian has a special interest in ophthalmology, providing an excellent opportunity for collaboration and professional development.
  • The facility is well-equipped with an in-house laboratory, an X-ray room, two operating theatres, separate kennels for cats and dogs, and four consultation rooms.

The Role: This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent practice

Responsiblites: The successful candidate will be responsible for managing routine first-opinion small animal cases, including consultations and surgical procedures.

Hours: This is a full-time position, requiring flexibility in working hours across four days per week (40 hours).

Shifts : Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts

Weekends/OOHS: While there are currently no weekend or out-of-hours (OOH) commitments, these may be introduced in the future.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience
  • Registered with the RCVS or eligible for registration
  • Strong routine small animal surgical and medical skills, including emergency procedures
  • Currently residing in England or Wales (or planning to relocate)
