Salary: £34,809 - £44,628 (Grade 8, with maximum unconsolidated salary of £44,628)

Social Workers receive a Welcome Bonus of £1000 paid in the first month, a Retention Bonus of £1000 after the first year, £2000 after the second year, and £3000 annually thereafter.

Role Overview:

  • Act as an officer of the Local Authority, executing statutory functions to safeguard and support individuals.
  • Work in partnership with individuals, professionals, and agencies to promote positive outcomes.
  • Apply professional curiosity, social work theories, and knowledge to formulate judgments.
  • Produce professional documentation, prioritize workload, and work within timescales.
  • Balance human rights and social justice principles, safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
  • Represent the Local Authority in various forums.

Person Specification:

  • Social work qualification and at least one year’s post-qualifying experience, meeting social work regulator requirements (excluding Newly Qualified Social Workers).
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a car with appropriate insurance.
  • Effective use of supervision for accountability and professional development.
  • Knowledge of applicable frameworks, theories, and research.
  • Understanding of legal and policy frameworks safeguarding vulnerable service users.
  • Effective communication skills with service users, families, carers, and professionals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and workload prioritization ability.
  • Ability to work independently, produce high-standard documentation, and share information appropriately.
