Hive Healthcare's Client has the following vacancies as a Night Team Leader; this is a waking night duty post.

Posts available are both full time and part time on waking night duty as a Team Leader, with hours of 37.75 and 24.5 respectively.

On behalf of our client, Hive Healthcare is seeking an experienced Team Leader to provide care and support to adults with a learning disability in Holywood. The Service is registered with RQIA and provides 24-hour care to 8 service users, and has 2 respite beds.

As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the daily lives of the residents and supporting the Management Team. If you have 6 months of senior or team leader experience within the last 3 years, a commitment to quality, and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others, please apply for this rewarding opportunity.

The Team Leader will support the Registered Manager to develop and implement personalised care plans and individual risk assessments to meet individual needs, ensure the delivery of quality care, and assist with the management of budgets and resources effectively.

Ideal candidates must be flexible and able to work unsociable hours, public holidays, and waking nights.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Delegating care tasks as per service user requirements and ensuring that these are carried out to acceptable standards.
  • Ensure staff provide support that follows service user’s care plans.
  • Managing the staff team to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of service users, staff, and others.
  • Fulfilling the role of the person in charge of a shift in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • To be competent in all areas of practice and ensure that knowledge is current and evidence-based.
  • Ensure that service user person-centred plans are maintained.
  • Act as an advocate for service users, putting their best interests first while ensuring the health and safety of all who receive and deliver services.
  • Demonstrate a caring attitude for both service users and colleagues.
  • Lead the shift and support staff to follow service users' care plans.
  • Ensure a well-led service and promote positive teamwork at all times.
  • Effectively report on any deficits within rotas that could impact negatively on the operational running of the service.
  • Ensure documentation is recorded accurately.
  • Ensure budgetary compliance in relation to the use of resources.
  • Support service users through their process of transition and take on key working responsibilities.
  • Assist service users with personal care and support tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating, and using the toilet while maximising their independence.
  • Be fully involved with statutory multidisciplinary teams and assist with assessment and review of service users’ needs.
  • Assist in the safe moving, handling, transferring, and repositioning of service users if required.
  • To provide support to service users on a rota basis which will include on-call support, i.e., weekend and waking night cover as required.
  • Ensure daily records of care provided are maintained within service user files and iPlanit, maintaining all other records as required.
  • Have responsibility for the accuracy, security, and confidentiality of service user records.
  • To undertake all mandatory training as required.
  • To take the lead role in the induction process of new staff and provide leadership to the team, acting as a positive role model at all times.
Requirements
  • GCSEs Maths and English A*-C or equivalent.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or relevant equivalent.
  • Two years of previous experience in a social care setting providing support/care.
  • Working knowledge of learning disabilities and associated needs.
  • Effective communication and IT skills.
  • Team leaders are required to work on a rota basis to include unsociable hours, weekends, and public holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £13.74 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week

Annual Leave: 6.4 weeks days pro rata in each leave year (inclusive of statutory days). This increases to 7.4 weeks after 5 years’ service and 7.8 weeks after 10 years’ service.

Annual incremental pay increases on agreed salary scale.

Auto-enrolment pension scheme, 5% employee contribution and 4% employer contribution.

Occupational Sick Pay that increases with service, up to 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay after 5 years.
