Permanent or Long-Term Locum Practice Nurse in Portsmouth offering up to £40/hr, Portsmouth

We are pleased to invite applications for the position of Practice Nurse at a respected and forward-thinking GP surgery in Portsmouth. This opportunity is open to experienced nurses seeking either a permanent post or a long-term locum assignment, depending on preference and availability. The practice is committed to delivering high quality, patient-centred care and is supported by a cohesive clinical and administrative team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of comprehensive nursing services within the practice, including but not limited to:

  • Managing patients with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and hypertension
  • Undertaking cervical screening, immunisations, wound care, and travel health advice
  • Supporting health promotion and patient education programmes
  • Assisting in the achievement of QOF and other clinical targets
  • Collaborating effectively with GPs, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Demonstrable experience in a primary care or GP surgery environment
  • Proficiency in treatment room duties and chronic disease management
  • Knowledge of clinical systems such as EMIS or SystmOne (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
