Overview

Permanent Learning Assistant – Secondary School, Hayes, Hillingdon, West London. Pay: £19,000 to £20,000. Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Full-Time / Term Time Only. Start Date: September/October 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Build positive relationships with students, providing a nurturing and supportive environment.
  • Provide one-on-one mentoring and targeted support to students, focusing on their social, emotional, and academic well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop personalized support plans.
  • Deliver group workshops and interventions to address topics such as self-esteem, study skills, resilience, and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies.
  • Work closely with the pastoral team and other staff members to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting student well-being and progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of interventions, progress, and communications with students and relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Learning Assistant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with students.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond to the varying needs and challenges of students.
  • A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Relevant qualifications in mentoring, counseling, or youth work would be advantageous.
