Permanent Child Protection Social Worker - Knowsley
Salary: 41,511 - 42,708 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Knowsley, Merseyside


Are you an experienced and passionate Social Worker looking to make a meaningful difference in children's lives? Eden Brown Synergy is working in partnership with Knowsley Council to recruit a dedicated Child Protection Social Worker to join their established Children's Social Care team on a permanent basis. This is an opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking local authority committed to safeguarding children and improving outcomes for families across the borough.


About the Role

As a Child Protection Social Worker, you will play a critical role in promoting the welfare of children and young people. Working within a supportive and structured environment, you will undertake high-quality assessments, manage a varied and complex caseload, and develop effective care plans that reflect the voices of children and families.


You will work in line with key legislation and statutory guidance including Working Together to Safeguard Children and the Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need. You will also be expected to uphold the council's professional standards and contribute positively to the team's development.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Carry out timely assessments in line with national guidance and frameworks
  2. Formulate and implement child-focused care and protection plans
  3. Engage effectively with children, families and multi-agency professionals
  4. Maintain accurate case records and produce high-quality reports
  5. Promote anti-oppressive practice and uphold equality, diversity and inclusion
  6. Support and mentor newly qualified social workers as needed
  7. Commit to continuous professional development and reflective practice

Requirements
  1. Social Work qualification (Degree, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent)
  2. Registration with Social Work England
  3. Experience within a statutory child protection setting
  4. Strong knowledge of current legislation, safeguarding frameworks and risk assessment
  5. Excellent communication, assessment and decision-making skills
  6. Commitment to working collaboratively and maintaining high professional standards
