Entry Level Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist

Specialist Autism School

Working with ABA Therapies

We are looking for a Band 6 Entry level Speech and Language Therapist to work in a full-time role based at a specialist autism school based in Maidenhead.

Salary will be up to £40k

Working in an innovative educational setting dedicated to 130 pupils with complex needs associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders for ages 4-16 years

You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team made up of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Art Therapists aligning them closely with the school’s objectives, ethos, and teaching practices.

Duties:

Manage your own clinical caseload

Be a key player in pupil referrals and therapy service optimization.

Champion continuous professional development, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.

Advise families and members of the teaching team in relation to pupils’ speech, language and communication development to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

Provide both 1:1 and group therapy for individuals and groups of pupils

Requirements:

HCPC registered

Strong leadership skills with experience in operational management within therapies.

A deep commitment to inclusive education, ABA and a passion for working with pupils with SEN and Autism.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to mentor, coach, and inspire your team.

Openness to understand ABA is needed but experience of ABA isn't essential at this time as this can be trained.

You will need non-verbal experience alongside extensive experience of working with autism and complex needs
