Job summary

Barnsley Council's Children’s Services is recruiting Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners for a newly created peripatetic team. The role offers a permanent contract, a supportive learning environment and opportunities to gain varied experience across children’s social care.

You will deliver high-quality assessments and plans, build strong relationships with children and families, and work across teams on a planned rotational basis to broaden your practice.

• A qualified social worker with experience in statutory children's services, registered with Social Work England.
• Excellent communicator with strong collaboration skills.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to handle new challenges.

Salary: £44,253 - £50,908 / £51,928 dependant on qualifications and experience

Working Arrangements: Monday to Friday

This is a full-time role. We are committed to supporting work–life balance, and requests for flexible working, including job share, will be considered in line with the needs of the service. Given the requirement for continuity of support to service users, any flexible working arrangements would need to ensure consistency in case management.

We’re excited to be recruiting Social Workers / Advanced Practitioners to join Barnsley Children’s Services. In Barnsley, children and families are at the heart of everything we do. This is a newly created team, bringing together practitioners with a variety of backgrounds to work in a responsive manner across all areas of children’s social care.
