If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are looking for three dedicated and adaptable social workers to join our team in permanent peripatetic roles. This is an ideal opportunity for social workers seeking a change, those who want to gain experience in other areas of social work practice, and those who have been agency social workers who are used to working across different teams but would like the security of a permanent social work role with the additional employment benefits this brings.

The Role

As a Peripatetic Social Worker, you will move between different social work teams to cover temporary vacancies created by maternity leave, sickness, or other absences. We are seeking individuals who have completed their ASYE and who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.

There will be a team of 5 peripatetic social workers initially. Your day-to-day supervision will be provided by responsible team manager in the team where you are placed, however the Academy Manager will maintain oversight of the peripatetic team, co-ordinating team placements and providing additional wellbeing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality social work services across various social work teams (based in Beverley, Goole, Bridlington and Anlaby), adapting quickly to new environments and challenges.
  • Cover temporary vacancies in different teams, ensuring continuity of help and protection for children and families.
  • Collaborate with team managers and colleagues to ensure seamless transitions and effective service delivery.

About You

  • You will need to be social work qualified (registered with Social Work England) and have completed your ASYE.
  • Demonstrable ability to adapt quickly to new teams and environments.
  • Ability to drive, have access to your own vehicle, and be able to travel across the East Riding footprint.
  • Passionate about promoting excellent social work practice and a proved track record of delivery high-quality social work services.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
