Job summary

Kingsbury High School seeks an experienced piano teacher to deliver structured lessons to students aged 11–18. You will prepare them for graded exams and public performances, and accompany them in concerts and rehearsals.

The role requires a degree in Music/Piano Performance (Grade 8 or equivalent) and an enhanced DBS check, with flexibility to work across the school’s busy musical program.

Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching piano to secondary-aged students.
• Strong sight-reading and keyboard accompaniment skills.
• Ability to teach diverse musical genres and adapt to student interests.
• Degree in Music/Piano Performance, Grade 8 or equivalent.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one).

About the Department

Join a energetic peripatetic team delivering tuition to over 60 students across the school. Music plays a central role in our school community, supported by a busy schedule of large concerts, showcase recitals, and full-scale annual musical productions. You will be instrumental in developing both soloist performance and ensemble accompaniment skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, high-quality individual piano and keyboard lessons across key stages (Ages 11-18).
• Prepare students for graded practical exams (Trinity, Rock-school and GCSE) and public performances.
• Accompany students in concerts, grade exams, or school musical rehearsals where required.

Requirements
