Job summary

West Dunbartonshire Council is recruiting Early Learning and Childcare Officers for Brucehill Early Learning and Childcare Centre. This term-time, pro-rata salary post is peripatetic, with potential relocation between centres to meet service needs.

Applicants must have pre-five childcare experience, be familiar with CfE Early Level and Pre-Birth to Three guidance, and join the PVG scheme as required. A flexible approach is essential in a dynamic, multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pre-five children.
• Knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence (Early Level) and Pre-Birth to Three guidance.
• A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to change.
• Successful candidates who are not already registered with the SSSC will be required to register within 3 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the provision of a safe, caring, and stimulating nursery environment for all children.
• Supporting and implementing a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance.
• Planning, recording, implementing, and evaluating suitable programmes of activities.
• Maintaining and recording children’s progress and assessments.
• Promoting parental participation in the learning process.

NNEB (or modular equivalent)

HNC in Childhood Practice

SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People)
