Job summary

Falkirk Council is seeking an Early Years Officer for St Andrew's Primary School, ELC Class, on a temporary maternity cover basis. The role requires experience in Early Learning and Childcare, and a commitment to high-quality play and learning both indoors and outdoors.

The post is full-time (37 hours), term time, from 26 October 2026 to 25 June 2027, with salary adjusted for term time. SSSC registration and PVG scheme membership are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent.
• Registered with or currently seeking registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
• Be prepared to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
• Contract: temporary, full time (37 hours), term time, maternity cover.

Responsibilities

• Promote and deliver high quality play and learning both indoors and outdoors.
• Establish positive relationships with children and families.
• Work as an effective team member within the Early Years team.
