Job description

Job Role

Are you ready to put your knowledge into action and make a real difference? We have an exciting opportunity for a Custody & Community Support Worker to join our team across Devon (Peripatetic).

You'll work directly with individuals involved in the criminal justice system, supporting their rehabilitation journey through guidance, encouragement, and practical help.

As a Support Worker, you'll manage a caseload of participants in a community setting. From initial engagement and assessment through to the end of their sentence, you'll provide consistent guidance and motivational support. You'll deliver one-to-one and group interventions designed to help participants overcome barriers, reintegrate into society, and successfully complete their rehabilitation journey.

We're looking for compassionate, resilient individuals to take on a dynamic and rewarding role supporting individuals both in custody and as they transition back into the community. You'll help them navigate challenges, access vital services, and build more positive futures.

Whether you're a recent graduate in criminology, psychology, social work, or someone passionate about social justice and rehabilitation, your empathy and commitment are what matter most. You'll be part of a dedicated team working to reduce reoffending and create safer, stronger communities.

This initiative aims to create safe, supportive spaces where individuals can engage in positive activities that promote social inclusion, improve wellbeing, and build the skills needed to face life's challenges. This is a rewarding opportunity to help participants turn their lives around and make a lasting impact in your community.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we offer a competitive salary of £24,650 - £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays + Birthday Day off (with the opportunity to buy an additional 5 days)
  • 2 Volunteer Days
  • Pension - 5% Employee 5% Employer
  • Healthcare Cash Plan, incl. 3 x salary life assurance
  • Annual salary pay review
  • Refer a friend scheme
  • Free access to Benefit Hub - an online portal with access to a wide range of retail discounts, cycle to work scheme, and additional voluntary benefits
