About You:

We're looking for a skilled chef who is passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences. As a Peripatetic Chef, you will have the opportunity to work in multiple kitchens, bringing fresh energy and leadership to our care homes across Somerset.

You will be responsible for designing and costing menus, mentoring kitchen staff, and delivering training in food hygiene. If you have a passion for cooking and a desire to make a difference in people's lives, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare high-quality meals that meet nutritional needs while offering taste, variety, and visual appeal.
  • SUPPORT kitchen teams, share knowledge, and help embed excellence across every home.
  • Design and cost menus in partnership with local teams, ensuring every home offers a diverse, appealing and compliant menu.
  • Deliver training in food hygiene to care staff and ensure safe, consistent practices are followed.

Requirements:

  • City & Guilds 706 1 & 2 or equivalent (or be working towards it).
  • Experience supervising a team or managing a kitchen.
  • A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A full driving licence and willingness to travel between homes in the Somerset region.
