Job description

To provide exemplary planned care for patients within the perioperative setting and assist in managing and organizing care in the operating theatre.

Main duties of the job

Assess patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload. Assist in delivering care to meet patients' health and wellbeing. Provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious information. Develop personal knowledge and skills, as well as those of others. Promote best practices in health, safety, and security. Assist in maintaining and developing services. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Promote people's equality, diversity, and rights. Apply technology for measurement, monitoring, and treatment. Recognize the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand personal responsibility in their prevention and control, as agreed with line management.

Person Specification
  • Experience in ENT, Gynae, and Urology preferred.
  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
  • Working towards post-registration qualifications in perioperative practice (nurse) or clinical specialism (ODP).
  • Ability to work in teams with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in caring roles and applying clinical reasoning to complex cases.
  • Competence supported by professional and clinical knowledge, including infection control and health and safety.
  • Proficiency in English, IELTS 7.0 or higher.
Shift pattern
  • Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 20:30.
  • Saturday, 07:30 to 18:00, with on-call duties.
