Job summary

Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is offering a perioperative fellow post for 6–12 months, with 12 months preferred. This role targets a registrar at stage 3 of the curriculum to develop perioperative medicine skills.

The fellow will engage in ACSA pathway development, guideline writing, perioperative management, quality improvement and research, with opportunities to present work locally and nationally.

Qualifications

• Post FRCA trainee or post CCT trainee.
• Evidence of achievement of broad based anaesthetic training.
• Current UK professional registration; ability to work within NHS frameworks and DBS/compliance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Join full shift rota with StR(H) trainees including prospective cover for study/annual Leave and flexible rota changes.
• Provide anaesthesia for emergency cases and resident cover for Critical Care Unit; participate in on-call arrangements (1 in 8).
• Contribute to registrar on-call rota, with up to one day per week allocated for project time and involvement in preoperative assessment and multi-disciplinary clinics.
