Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a clinician to coordinate the enhanced recovery pathway for hip and knee arthroplasty patients. You will deliver education sessions to support informed consent and manage expectations, while monitoring progress along the perioperative pathway.

You will actively participate in morning briefs, promote early mobilisation and effective pain control, and support timely discharge.

Qualifications

• Participate in ongoing professional development and mandatory training.
• Contribute to the education of staff on enhanced recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the enhanced recovery pathway for hip and knee arthroplasty patients.
• Deliver patient education sessions to support informed consent and expectation management.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress throughout the perioperative pathway.
• Take active part in the morning team brief and promote early mobilisation, effective pain control, and timely discharge.
• Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration or complications and review early post-op patients for wound infection.
• Be a single point of contact for patients throughout their journey and liaise promptly with consultants.
