Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking a perioperative education specialist to deliver and coordinate education across the perioperative pathway. The role focuses on induction, skills development, standardising practice, BLS and manual handling for 560+ practitioners and student cohorts.

You will become a trusted expert advising clinical teams and leading training initiatives, with opportunities for specialist training and one clinical day per week.

Qualifications

• Registered Practitioner - ODP/RN with valid registration (NMC/HCPC)
• Experience in perioperative education delivery and assessment
• Experience of coordinating education programmes and mandatory training

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver perioperative education programmes across theatres and departments
• Lead moving and handling training with specialist advice for perioperative areas
• Coordinate induction, preceptorship and mentorship for new staff and learners
• Audit and evaluate training effectiveness and ensure compliance with national standards
