Job summary

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a strategic Head of Midwifery and Neonatal Services to lead operationally across perinatal services. The role focuses on safety, quality, governance, and patient experience while driving regional improvements within the Bath, Swindon, and Wiltshire system.

You will work with the Divisional Management Team to develop practice, with responsibility for reporting, policy development, and deputising for the Director of Midwifery and Neonatal Services

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in midwifery or nursing at Band 8a or above.
• Experience of midwifery practice in hospital and community settings.
• Current UK professional registration (NMC) and ongoing CPD.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational direction and management of midwifery and neonatal services.
• Ensure high standards of care, patient experience and governance compliance.
• Cover board assurance reports and deputise for the DoMN when required.
• Participate in on-call rota for maternity and neonatal services.
