Job summary

South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Practitioner Psychologist to join the Perinatal Mental Health Service in a part-time 0.5 WTE role. The post focuses on providing highly specialist psychological care to parents and their infants with complex needs, including risk assessment and MDT collaboration.

The role offers supervision, training opportunities and development within a psychologically informed trauma-focused care pathway, as part of the NHS

Qualifications

• Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPS.
• Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (Practitioner Psychologist, domain: Clinical or Counselling)
• Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment across care settings
• Experience with perinatal mental health and complex cases

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessments using diverse data sources and tests.
• Formulate and implement treatment plans following NICE guidelines.
• Deliver a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers and families.
• Conduct risk assessment and management for clients.
• Provide guidance and consultation to other professionals on psychological care in the perinatal context.
• Collaborate with community teams to plan handovers post-discharge.
