Join a dynamic Parent-Baby Emotional Wellbeing Service as a Band 6 Perinatal Mental Health Nurse. This role involves providing emotional support, conducting assessments, and working closely with health professionals to assist families during and after pregnancy. This fixed-term opportunity until March 2026 is perfect for someone looking to enhance their experience in perinatal mental health. Deliver impactful interventions while being supported by a collaborative and innovative team.
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Band 6 Perinatal Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic, trauma-informed Parent-Baby Emotional Wellbeing (PBEW) Service in Waltham Forest.
The PBEW Service is a borough-wide triage and therapeutic holding service supporting families during pregnancy and the first two years postpartum. It offers early identification, emotional wellbeing support, and time-limited therapeutic work while clients are awaiting or transitioning into other pathways such as Talking Therapies, PPIMHS, or Family Hubs.
The team is hosted by TH GP Care Group and works in close partnership with Waltham Forest health and early years systems.
Following a successful first year of delivery and outstanding outcomes, the service was recommissioned for an additional year with the potential to be extended again in the next commissioning cycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build experience in perinatal mental health, parent-infant work, and integrated borough-wide service delivery.
This 30-hour post is offered as a fixed-term contract until March 2026 and is an excellent opportunity for a secondment.
You will provide emotional wellbeing visits, conduct mental health assessments, and contribute to MDT planning to support families across the perinatal pathway. You'll work in partnership with Health Visitors, Early Help, maternity, and local mental health teams to offer joined-up care to families experiencing mild to moderate emotional wellbeing needs.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
