Overview

The Mental Health Care Group of Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust provides a range of services across three care units: Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People, and Specialist Services. Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Perinatal Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). The county-wide service provides care to women and their families in the perinatal period. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based practice and alignment with NICE and RCPsych CCQI standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide management, leadership and development to the Perinatal CMHT to ensure effective clinical practice and governance.
  • Maintain the quality of service in line with NICE and RCPsych CCQI standards.
  • Hold oversight of the team caseload with attention to waiting times for assessment and treatment to ensure timely access to services.
  • Support referral management into the service and assist in workload allocation across the team.
  • Contribute to training for health colleagues in recognizing mental health needs and making appropriate referrals.
  • Support the Service Manager in reporting to NHS England, Commissioners and internal quality systems and governance.
  • Collaborate with Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychology Lead and allied health professionals from Midwifery, Health Visiting and GP services to provide holistic, evidence-informed care packages.
  • Be part of on-call duties for Specialist Services Care Unit and participate in multidisciplinary team work.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Experience working in or with perinatal mental health is welcomed; a person/family-centered approach aligned with the organisation’s values is essential.
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills; ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use; reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled applicants in line with equality legislation.
