Job summary

Cardinal Newman College is seeking a proactive Performing Arts Technician to support the college's Performing Arts department. The role covers maintenance of electrical equipment, safety leadership, and acting as resident Stage Manager for productions.

The successful candidate will have GCSE Maths and English at C/4 or above and experience in theatre or educational environments, with strong communication and organisational skills and a commitment to safeguarding and Catholic ethos.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
• Experience of technical work within a theatre or educational environment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; flexibility to support a busy department.
• Commitment to Catholic ethos and safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of electrical equipment, particularly sound and lighting.
• Management of Health and Safety within teaching and performance spaces.
• Act as resident Stage Manager for all productions.
• Maintenance of teaching spaces, ensuring readiness for teaching after performances.
• Monitor theatre stock and order cost-effective supplies.
