Job summary

Cardinal Newman College is seeking a Performing Arts Technician to maintain electrical equipment, oversee health and safety in teaching and performance spaces, and act as resident Stage Manager for productions. The role supports a busy Performing Arts department with strong organisational and communication skills.

The post is a term-time, annualised hours contract with modest annual salary points and pro rata scales, located on site in Yeovil.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
• Experience of technical work within theatre or educational environment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to support the varied needs of a busy Performing Arts department.
• Catholic ethos and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of electrical equipment, particularly sound and lighting.
• Management of Health and Safety within teaching and performance spaces.
• Act as resident Stage Manager for all productions.
• Maintenance of teaching spaces and readiness for teaching and performances.
• Monitor consumable theatre stock and order cost-effective supplies.
