Job description

Whatley Campus, Melbury College is a new SEN school and we are proud to support students with autism. We opened in September 2022 and judged as GOOD by Ofsted less than two years after opening.

We are looking to recruit a nurturing and driven Performing Arts teacher who has a strong commitment to raising standards and who can promote a positive school culture. This is a part-time position, equivalent to 2.5 days per week. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in delivering Performing Arts, including Drama and Music to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils. Candidates should have:
- An excellent teaching record
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
- Experience of the use of restorative practices and effective behaviour management skills as well as good rapport with challenging pupils.
- Ability to monitor and review through self-evaluation, report writing and a clear system of record keeping
- Ability to teach flexibly, innovatively and responsively in a challenging environment
- Evidence of ability to successfully manage and support pupils with SEMH
- The ability to plan and deliver outstanding teaching and learning for both individuals and small groups with high quality outcomes for all pupils
- Dedication to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
