Job Description:

Role: Performance Marketing Manager – Travel – Agency Management Role

Location: London – 1 or 2 days in the office, depending on team meetings.

Salary: Up to £45k

Benefits: PMI, Highly Competitive Pension, Travel discounts

The role will be responsible for managing “always on” Performance Marketing campaigns via an agency for a UK Travel company. The focus will be on working with the agency to acquire customers within CPA limits and to improve ROI across digital channels such as PPC, Display, and Affiliates.

The client, a leading Travel agency based in London, offers a hybrid working model, typically in the office once or twice a week, providing flexibility based on individual preferences. They see digital marketing as a key growth pillar.

About the Role

You will work directly with the Head of Performance Marketing as a key team member, with full autonomy over the company's Performance Marketing efforts. You will collaborate with the agency to optimize customer acquisition and ensure effective budget utilization. The role offers diverse challenges and responsibilities.

The company has decades of experience in the Travel industry and operates on two sides of the business. If you are interested in a role that involves social media and content alongside performance marketing, this position offers such variety.

You will need to self-manage tasks and work as a consultant, liaising with multiple stakeholders to understand their needs and goals. The work will be varied, exposing you to a wide range of challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Design, manage, and implement acquisition marketing plans to meet objectives efficiently.
  • Brief and manage the media agency to deliver innovative media plans utilizing core channels.
  • Optimize cross-channel campaigns, build retargeting data pools, perform keyword optimization, tagging, and develop data strategies and landing page recommendations.
  • Manage affiliate programs and campaigns, ensuring effective coverage with low CPA.
  • Oversee monthly marketing activities and maintain cost-effective CPA metrics.
  • Manage relationships with media agencies, set goals, provide assets, give performance feedback, and oversee budgets.
  • Analyze and report data to measure activity effectiveness and inform optimizations.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to inform implementation recommendations.
  • Achieve KPIs to meet annual forecasts and goals.
  • Develop strategies to reach new customers via desktop and mobile campaigns.
  • Manage PPC, display, and social testing schedules to improve campaign results.
  • Collaborate with website and CRM teams to enhance user experience.
  • Work with CRM to develop retention programs using first-party data to improve customer lifetime engagement.
  • Utilize customer insights such as segmentation and profiling to target PPC, display, and affiliate activities effectively. Take ownership of Google Analytics performance tracking for paid campaigns.

Experience Necessary

  • Several years of experience in Performance Marketing (PPC, Display, Affiliates), either agency-side or client-side.
  • Experience managing a digital marketing agency, setting objectives, and performance management.
  • Proven ability to create and deliver Performance Marketing strategies through an agency.
  • Experience tracking and reporting on digital campaigns.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Experience with analytical tools such as Google Analytics is beneficial.
  • Highly analytical with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
