Job description

We are looking for a Performance Manager to join Thames Water permanently.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in one of our most critical roles within Waste Treatment as a front-line performance manager.


You will have two key responsibilities: managing and supporting your team, and ensuring process compliance on your sites.


You will oversee the day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of various sewage treatment works in the Wargrave area, through effective leadership, resource management, and process enhancement.


Location: Wargrave Area


Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead your team in accordance with company policies, ensuring competence through coaching and training.
  • Identify, mitigate, resolve, and escalate risks across the site and team.
  • Ensure asset operation and maintenance are conducted consistently to deliver safe, cost-effective, and robust 24/7 operations.
  • Manage the site budget effectively, with regular reviews focusing on H&S, compliance, and performance.
  • Deliver a safe service to customers by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Implement health and safety protocols and ensure site and team compliance.
  • Oversee Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) permit compliance and liaise with internal departments to meet permit conditions.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with internal teams, the Environment Agency, local councils, fire services, and others.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience managing teams, with process or operational management background preferred, including budget management, health & safety, relationship building, and engineering/maintenance skills.
  • Strong people and performance management skills.
  • High standards of health and safety and customer service ethics.
  • Excellent organizational and risk management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • Valid driving license for site travel.

  • Salary up to £40,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • 26 days holiday, increasing to 30 with service, plus bank holidays.
