This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work in the Business Intelligence Service of Leicestershire County Council. We are looking to recruit a skilled Performance Manager to join our successful childrens social care business intelligence team supporting statutory returns/performance requirements on a fixed term contract.

About the role

Working as part of a large and innovative Business Intelligence Service liaising closely with colleagues across the council you will help provide performance and business intelligence support for strategic planning service delivery and statutory data requirements relating to Childrens Social Care.

We are looking for anenthusiastic individual ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) who is able to work under pressure and who has experience of working with and managing staff in a business intelligence or a performance management environment with a keen interest in supporting services to use data as evidence for decision making.

Experienced in working with large and complex datasets and presenting analysis using a variety of IT packages you will have excellent IT skills and proven ability to learn new packages as well as knowledge of relevant specialist software particular knowledge of Tableau (or similar visualisation packages) and case management systems such as Mosaic would be an advantage although training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Your work will involve supporting the provision of highquality childrens social care data and business intelligence analysis improving data quality completing statutory returns and providing expert knowledge and guidance on these aspects of performance management providing support for Ofsted inspections and supporting senior managers and commissioners to improve services for children and families.

About you

To apply for this post you must:

  • Have significant experience of working with childrens social care data in particular the technical knowledge of statutory return frameworks and experience of line management/matrix management of performance analysts delivering childrens social care statutory returns
  • ADegree (or equivalent) level in a relevant subject OR equivalent level of relevant experience
  • Excellent IT skills (including in Microsoft packages) as well as good literacy and numeracy skills and demonstrable effective problemsolving skills
  • Experience of managing and analysing data from database to dashboard (e.g. producing charts tables maps dashboards and use of statistical/analytical techniques including extracting data from systems understanding database relationships and basic knowledge of data joins) as well as experience of managng projects to successful delivery
  • Experience of presenting data and information using a variety of IT packages and knowledge of specialist software that underpins the teams work areas particular knowledge of Tableau (or similar visualisation packages) would be an advantage as would be the ability to learn new packages
  • Care and concern for the accuracy of information and evidence of attention to detail in working methods
  • Good presentation written and verbal communication skills good interpersonal skills and good organisational skills with the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative (including working from home)
