The partnership delivers mental health services to a population of more than three million people and aims to improve quality, use resources effectively, and deliver best practice consistently to all patients. The L&D service intervenes at the earliest opportunity when an individual comes into contact with the Criminal Justice System (CJS), typically starting at police contact to identify potential vulnerabilities. The Primary Men’s MHTR service operates within a clinically focused framework and is structured into nine phases: identification, eligibility check and screening, practitioner assessment, consent, clinical lead approval, sentence, post-sentence case management, intervention and joint case management, and intervention completion.
