A leading motorsport team in Birmingham seeks a Senior Performance Engineer to enhance driving and car performance. The ideal candidate should have an engineering degree, at least 3 years of related experience, and endurance trackside knowledge. Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of LMP-style cars is essential.
  • Endurance trackside experience (WEC, ELMS, Asian LMS, Formula 1, Formula E, etc.) is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Manage activities related to driving and car performance.
  • Conduct driver analysis and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with trackside engineering team to ensure high standards.

We are building something special at Alpine Endurance Team.

As part of our long-term plan to compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), we are looking to expand our talented team with motivated individuals committed to excellence.

Within the Trackside Engineering Team, we have a rare opportunity for a Senior Performance Engineer.

Performance Engineer - The Role

Reporting to the Head of Trackside Engineering, the Driver & Performance Engineer will manage activities related to driving and car performance, including driver analysis, chassis-related performance analysis, and vehicle system performance.

Performance Engineer - The Person

The ideal candidate will hold an engineering or relevant degree, with a strong understanding of driving analysis using various tools, and vehicle dynamics & system knowledge for performance analysis.

Additional requirements include:

  • Proficiency with software such as HHDM, HH Timing, MM Wintax & Sysma, MATLAB, Canopy (advantageous)
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Endurance trackside experience (WEC, ELMS, Asian LMS, Formula 1, Formula E, etc.) is highly recommended
  • Knowledge of LMP-style cars is essential
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus
