The Performance Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the collection, interrogation, analysis, visualisation and interpretation of data to assist the academy physical performance and rehabilitation team providing valuable insights to drive player development and return to performance following injury.

Your Impact

  1. Lead the charge in developing and implementing groundbreaking use of athlete and performance data analysis to revolutionize player development, health and rehabilitation.
  2. Drive initiatives to elevate data quality and reliability, setting new standards in data hygiene to fuel the high-quality data insights.
  3. Collaborate with Football Intelligence (CFG) sports scientists, coaches, and analysts to understand their needs and deliver tailor-made solutions that support player development, health and rehabilitation.
  4. Craft captivating data visualisations and reports that translate complex insights into actionable strategies, empowering decision-makers at every level.
  5. Analyse large datasets from multiple sources to produce insight & identify trends using appropriate statistical analysis.

What we are looking for

Essential

  • BSc or MSc in Data Science, Sports Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working with data within a professional sports environment, preferably team sports.
  • Previous experience working with Tableau or equivalent software to drive actions.
  • Basic experience with R/Python and other programming languages.
  • Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and develop intra/inter departmental relationships.
  • Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to tailor presentations to different audiences.
  • Creative and curious problem solver with a positive attitude to new challenges.

Desirable

  • Evidence of data analytics CPD, certification or course.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in programming languages such as R and/or Python.
  • Expertise in orchestrating seamless API integrations for real-time data exchange and automating workflows, setting the stage for transformative insights.
  • Experience with data modelling, machine learning, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • A deep passion for data science and performance analytics, particularly in the realm of performance science.
