A local authority is seeking Performance Assistants to work with data and develop visual insights. The successful candidates will have strong numerical and analytical skills, with experience in data manipulation and SQL tools being highly valued. Are you someone who loves working with data? Do you enjoy developing charts, graphs and visualisations? Can you assist in summarising data to help find meaningful insights for different audiences? Are you comfortable working with large databases and datasets and do you have experience of extracting and manipulating data using SQL-based interrogation tools or similar? Whether you're an Excel expert or a database guru, if you can turn big datasets into insights that people can understand, we'd love to have you in our team. This role offers the opportunity to work as a member of the Performance and Analysis Team to extract and format performance information to help all tiers of management in a local authority and partnership context.
You will have excellent numerical and analytical skills together with some experience of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques. You’ll have a good level of experience of extracting, manipulating and using performance information with appreciation of a rapidly changing environment. The ability to interrogate large amounts of data and present data in an effective way are essential for this role, and there will be an opportunity to engage with stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate needs a flexible can‑do approach, and they would have an eye for detail and opportunities to develop products or processes. Previous experience in a local government setting is desirable, but not essential. Successful candidates can be supported to further develop their subject knowledge. This role is available on a permanent basis.
