Job Description:

Responsible for receiving incoming telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner, greeting patients, verifying demographic/insurance, collecting co-payments/deductibles, and various clerical duties.

Job Responsibility:

  • Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls, and if appropriate routes them appropriately.
  • Organizes messages and delivers them promptly to the necessary individual.
  • Greet patients and guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Verify insurance coverage and demographic information.
  • Obtain insurance referrals and authorizations.
  • Direct patients to appropriate waiting or clinical areas.
  • Explain financial obligation to patients or responsible parties and collect. copayments/co-insurance/deductibles as required.
  • Facilitate or create appointments for follow-up care, diagnostics procedures, physical therapy, or pain management.
  • Other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
  • Varying shifts between the hours of: 7:30am - 8pm
  • 1-2 late nights (11:30am-8pm) required
  • Rotating weekend (1/month) required

Job Qualification:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience working in a medical facility or related field.
  • Minimum one year experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment.
