In this role, you will partner with CEOs and leadership teams to design effective hiring and retention strategies, contribute to growth initiatives, and build scalable frameworks. You will be instrumental in enhancing founder experiences and addressing talent needs across the tech landscape. Strong networks in early-stage candidates and recruitment will be essential for success.

Job description

Build foundational teams by partnering with the CEOs and Leaders of Deep Tech and Bio Tech businesses, advising and partnering on hiring and retention strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the design of leadership teams and organizations, scoping of roles, shape of interview processes and onboarding
  • Contribute to the ongoing delivery and development of the Octopus Ventures value creation product such that you identify and own initiatives that will increase impact and founder satisfaction
  • Build scalable frameworks or tools for use of portfolio leaders
  • Gather and share insights on market trends (e.g., compensation, equity benchmarks, tooling) to inform hiring strategies

As a Deep Tech People & Talent Lead, you'll work closely with the Founders, CEOs, and leadership teams of companies across the tech landscape, allowing you to contribute to the success stories of companies that are shaping the future.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building a network of relevant early-stage candidates across the most common roles that arise such that you can make high-impact introductions
  • Developing a deep network of service providers, including exec recruiters and L+D specialists, that you can easily deploy into relevant projects
  • Clearly documenting and articulating the measurable impact of talent initiatives to internal stakeholders and portfolio companies
  • Working with the OV team to prioritise and manage projects in order to optimize for total value creation
