As a People Services Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering a seamless, high-quality colleague experience within the People Function. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to colleagues and managers on a range of people-related matters, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and local legislation. This role is instrumental in enhancing our People Services function by driving simplicity, standardisation, and efficiency while delivering a globally aligned and regionally tailored service.

The People Services team is a vital part of the People Operations function, supporting Sage’s global workforce across the UKI, North America, EMEA, South Africa, and APAC. Established a few years ago, this best-in-class team is at the heart of shaping and developing our People Services team. We operate autonomously within a clearly defined service scope, embedding within Sage’s Global People Operating Model. Our mission is to provide an efficient, colleague-focused service that enhances engagement, optimises processes, and drives continuous improvement.

What's in it for you?

  • Be Part of a Global People Team: Join a collaborative and high-impact team supporting Sage colleagues across the UKI, North America, EMEA, South Africa, and APAC, gaining valuable international exposure and insight into global People Services practices.
  • Shape the Future of People Services: This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and evolution of a growing People Services function at Sage, where your voice and ideas will help shape globally aligned and regionally tailored People Services.
  • Support Diverse Regions & Complex Challenges: Work with stakeholders across various countries, supporting a wide range of people related matters, from employee relations to organisational change, enhancing your skills in a truly dynamic, multicultural setting.
  • Grow With Industry Leaders: Sage is a forward-thinking, tech-driven company where people are the heart of everything. You’ll work alongside professionals, specialists, and business leaders who are passionate about continuous improvement and colleague experience.
  • Hybrid Working & Career Development: Enjoy a flexible hybrid model (3 days in the office) and ongoing learning opportunities, while developing a robust understanding of global People Services systems like ServiceNow and Sage People.

Key Responsibilities

  • Absence Management – Support managers in handling absence-related issues, including unjustified absence, reasonable adjustments, occupational health, and wellbeing support pathways, collaborating with external providers.
  • Trend Monitoring – Assess and escalate absence trends to Employee Relations and Strategic People Business Partners to promote early intervention.
  • Employee Relations – Provide expert advice on a range of employee relations matters, including performance, investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, redundancy, and flexible hybrid working queries/requests.
  • Policy & Compliance – Ensure policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently while acting as an escalation point within the People Services team.
  • Health & Welfare Support – Administer private health insurance claims, supporting colleagues and managers through the process, along with delivering Manager upskilling sessions.
  • Manager & Colleague Support – Act as a trusted advisor, guiding managers and colleagues through key people processes.
  • HR Systems, Documentation & Communication – Use HR case management system, ServiceNow and Sage People to capture the colleague journey, manage formal communications across employee relations processes, ensuring clarity and compliance with legal standards.
  • Process Optimisation – Identify and drive continuous improvements to simplify processes, establish global standards, and enhance the colleague experience.
  • Organisational Change Support – Assist with change programs, building business cases for People Business Partners (PBP’s) ensuring smooth transitions while maintaining compliance and engagement.
  • Data-Driven Insights – Leverage internal systems to analyse trends, inform decision-making, and develop training and guidance materials.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with Strategic People Business Partners, People COEs (e.g., DEI, Global Mobility, Reward, Payroll, L&D, Reporting, Benefits, Talent Acquisition), and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent and effective service.
  • GDPR & Data Management – Ensure all activities comply with GDPR and data retention policies.
