Job summary

Wenzel’s The Bakers is seeking a head of HR to join the Head Office team in Watford. This role focuses on delivering exceptional employee experience, advising leaders, and shaping HR strategy across head office and store locations.

The ideal candidate will have CIPD Level 3 or equivalent, strong generalist HR experience, and a practical understanding of employment law, disciplinary, and change management in a retail context.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 3 or HR Management experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• HR generalist with disciplinary, change and employment law knowledge
• Proactive, commercial mindset with ability to influence leadership teams
• Experience across multi-store/retail environments advantageous

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR guidance to head office and stores
• Build strong relationships across all levels and advise leaders
• Design and implement employee engagement initiatives
• Support recruitment, onboarding and performance reviews
• Ensure compliance with employment law and data protection
