People Partner

Application Deadline: 6 November 2026

Location: London

Reporting To: Charlotte Cherry

Compensation: £58,000 - £71,000 / year

Description

We're looking for a People Partner who can combine brilliant HR generalist experience with a real passion for organisational design and change. This role is about building trusted relationships with leaders, asking the right questions (even the tricky ones!) and helping shape how our people and teams work, both today and in the future.

What you’ll be getting stuck into
  • Partner closely with leaders across the business, building trusted relationships and helping them navigate everything from day-to-day people challenges to bigger organisational changes.
  • Play a leading role in organisational design and change, working alongside leaders to rethink team structures, responsibilities and ways of working, and helping turn those ideas into reality.
  • Bring a fresh perspective to how work gets done, challenging assumptions and exploring how AI and new technologies could reshape roles, responsibilities and the skills we'll need for the future.
  • Be a trusted sounding board for leaders, offering thoughtful coaching, honest advice and constructive challenge to help them make brilliant people decisions.
  • Get stuck into the full range of HR generalist activity, from employee relations matters and performance management to engagement, development and wellbeing.
  • Help make change stick, supporting leaders through sensitive conversations, managing the people impact and ensuring colleagues feel informed, supported and included throughout.
  • Use people insights, data and feedback to spot opportunities, solve problems and help create an even better experience for everyone.
What you’ll bring
  • Strong HR generalist experience, where you've been able to get involved in a broad range of people matters and build close relationships with leaders.
  • Hands-on experience partnering with leaders through organisational design and change, from challenging the initial thinking and shaping team structures to supporting implementation and bringing people along on the journey.
  • The confidence and credibility to influence at all levels, with a natural warmth that builds trust and the courage to challenge even the strongest opinions in a thoughtful, constructive way.
  • Solid employee relations experience, with the judgement and sensitivity to navigate complex situations, balance business and people needs, and find practical, fair solutions.
  • A genuine curiosity about AI and the future of work, with the confidence to explore how technology can change the shape of teams and roles, and challenge traditional ways of working.
  • A proactive, adaptable and people-first approach. You'll be comfortable with ambiguity, happy to roll up your sleeves and passionate about making a real difference, rather than simply quoting policies.
What you’ll get in return

We know life doesn’t stop when work starts. So we’ve built our benefits to support you - at work and beyond.

  • Life – support when it matters most, with healthcare from day one, family-friendly policies and help for life’s bigger moments
  • Work – the foundations that set you up for the future, including a competitive pension, life assurance and options like our EV scheme
  • Spirit – space to grow and enjoy the journey, with a personal learning budget, mentoring, volunteering time… and our famous "Screw it, let’s do it" pot

It’s all designed to help you feel your best, do your best, and enjoy the ride - with a few extra Virgin touches along the way (because we don’t really do “standard”).

The essentials

  • Salary: £58,000 - £71,000 + bonus — we’re big on transparency, so no smoke and mirrors here. We’ll always offer a salary that reflects your experience, with room to grow within the range.
  • Where you’ll work: We come together in the office approx. 2-3 days a week — the rest is yours to work in your own space

Bring your whole self

We welcome people from all walks of life, with all kinds of experiences and ways of thinking. Different perspectives, however your mind works, help us see things differently and do things better.

If there’s anything we can do to support you through the hiring process, just let us know, we’ll always do our best to make it work for you.

We believe in using business as a force for good, creating positive change for our people, our communities and the world around us. That includes being a Fair Chance employer and championing strengths like dyslexic thinking - staying open, listening to individual circumstances and focusing on potential.
