Are you an experienced HR Business Partner looking for a new challenge in a dynamic environment? Join the BYLOR team at HPC and play a pivotal role in shaping HR strategies to meet operational requirements.

In this role, you will work closely with business leaders and managers, offering valuable guidance on employee relations, talent development, and workforce planning. Your position will be instrumental in bridging the gap between the workforce and the business, ensuring cohesion in a unionized and safety-critical setting.

BYLOR is a joint venture between Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke, delivering the main civil engineering works for Hinkley Point C (HPC), the first new nuclear power station built in the UK in over 30 years. Our workforce is at the heart of this critical infrastructure project, and we are committed to fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with operational leaders to provide strategic HR support, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Lead workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning efforts to meet project demands.
  • Employee Relations: addressing employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and ensure that the organisation maintains a healthy, positive workplace culture. This includes supporting leadership in handling issues like performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases, working collaboratively with unions and key stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and industry best practices.
  • Drive employee engagement strategies, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and high performance.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across the project, ensuring an inclusive workplace for all.
  • Support change management initiatives and organisational development efforts as the project evolves.
  • Provide HR data insights and analytics to support decision-making and improve workforce performance.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, employee relations, and union engagement.
  • Experience in workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior leaders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use HR data to drive decision-making.
  • Experience working on major infrastructure or nuclear projects.
  • Familiarity with the Joint Venture (JV) model and its HR complexities.
