Job Description

People Operations Manager – Build the Ultimate Sports Camp Team

Step into a role where talent meets opportunity, and people make all the difference. This is more than just recruitment—it’s about assembling an exceptional team that delivers world-class sports experiences for athletes through Elite Sports Camps.

Every year, dedicated professionals come together to create a dynamic, high-energy environment where sports enthusiasts can develop their skills, train with top coaches, and immerse themselves in elite-level training. Behind the scenes, a talented core team ensures everything runs seamlessly. Now, an opportunity has opened for a People Operations Manager to take the lead in recruiting, training, and managing the high-calibre staff who make it all happen.

Your Mission

You will be at the heart of the action, responsible for every step of the staffing journey. From scouting top talent to onboarding, compliance, and performance management, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of these industry-leading sports camps.

You will:

  1. Own the recruitment strategy, attracting and retaining 400+ top-tier temporary staff each season.
  2. Manage the staffing budget, ensuring payroll and invoicing run smoothly.
  3. Create a vibrant, high-performance sports culture, where staff feel valued, engaged, and motivated to return year after year.
  4. Oversee compliance, ensuring all hires meet strict safeguarding and security requirements.
  5. Implement a robust training and appraisal system, helping staff grow while keeping the camps running at peak performance.
  6. Support the Senior Leadership Team in recruiting and developing permanent office staff, ensuring a dynamic, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.

What You’ll Bring

You are a master of people management, combining strategic thinking with hands-on leadership. Your experience in recruitment, safeguarding, and team development—particularly in environments working with athletes—will be invaluable. You are highly organised, process-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced setting where attention to detail is paramount.

Must-haves:

  • Background in working with children in an educational, sports, or residential setting.
  • Deep understanding of recruitment, safeguarding, and HR best practices.
  • A confident, personable, and professional communication style.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel and workforce management systems.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile—longer hours and weekend work may be required during peak summer months.

What’s in It for You?

  • Competitive salary + annual bonus scheme
  • Private healthcare package
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Regular company away-days & social events
  • A culture where your voice matters—everyone contributes, and fresh ideas are always welcome
  • Flexibility to work remotely while being part of a buzzing Central London office
