About the Role

We are seeking an organized and enthusiastic People Operations Assistant to join our People & Culture team at Abingdon and Witney College. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support various HR functions and contribute to our talent development initiatives.

In this role, you will support the full employee lifecycle—from onboarding to learning and development coordination—ensuring smooth HR processes and fostering staff growth across the college.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support across all People Operations functions, including onboarding, Single Central Records, absence management, and contract changes.
  • Prepare employment documentation such as offer letters, contracts, and contractual change letters.
  • Maintain and update HR systems accurately, ensuring compliance with data protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Assist in coordinating learning and development activities, including booking training sessions, maintaining records, and monitoring compliance with mandatory learning.
  • Support talent development programs, including induction plans, CPD events, and career workshops.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture team to gather feedback and evaluate learning initiatives.
  • Assist with workforce data reporting, including training uptake, probation reviews, and appraisals.
