Job summary

Morley College is seeking an organised HR Administrator to join the People Operations team in London. The role focuses on recruitment, onboarding, employee administration and staff development, delivering a responsive, professional HR service across the College.

You will support campaigns, pre-employment checks, contracts, HR systems, payroll liaison and mandatory training, working with colleagues across the College to continuously improve processes.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent HR admin experience within a complex organisation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment campaigns from advertisement through to appointment, including arranging interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Coordinate pre-employment and onboarding checks (DBS, references, right-to-work).
  • Assist with preparation and issuing of contracts and employment correspondence.
  • Manage enquiries via People Operations and recruitment inboxes and escalate complex matters.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems.
  • Liaise with Payroll to ensure accurate staff payments.
  • Support administration and monitoring of mandatory staff development training.
  • Prepare reports for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Support meetings, events and People Operations projects and process improvements.

Job description

We are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused HR Administrator to join our People Operations team and play an important role in delivering an efficient and professional HR service across the College.

About the Role

This is a varied and busy role providing high-quality administrative support across the full range of People Operations activities, with a particular focus on recruitment, onboarding, employee administration and staff development.

Working closely with the People Operations team, Payroll, managers and colleagues across the College, you will help ensure that our HR processes run smoothly and that staff and candidates receive a responsive and professional service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting recruitment campaigns from advertisement through to appointment, including arranging interviews, preparing recruitment documentation and communicating with candidates.
  • Coordinating pre-employment and onboarding checks, including DBS checks, references, right-to-work checks and other required documentation.
  • Assisting with the preparation and issuing of contracts and employment correspondence.
  • Managing and responding to enquiries received through People Operations and recruitment inboxes, escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and updating the College's HR systems
  • Liaising with Payroll to help ensure employee information is accurate and staff are paid correctly.
  • Supporting the administration and monitoring of mandatory and staff development training.
  • Preparing reports and maintaining accurate records for auditing, monitoring and compliance purposes.
  • Supporting meetings, events and wider People Operations projects, including identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes.
About You

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, accurate and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

You will have CIPD Level 3 or relevant HR administrative experience within a complex organisation, together with excellent communication and customer service skills.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to use initiative and resolve straightforward queries effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional, approachable and customer-focused manner.
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

An understanding of HR processes, staff development administration and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) would be advantageous.
