People & OD Advisor – 12 month fixed term contract

We are delighted to be looking for 2 People & OD Advisors to provide guidance and advice on a range of matters including terms & conditions, absence, discipline, grievance, harassment and bullying, organisational change, ensuring consistent application of employment law.

The successful candidates will be assigned to a clustering of business units / departments, working with a small team and a much wider support network of aligned corporate specialists, in a matrix model of working.

The People & OD Advisor role is at the heart of our directorate model, reporting to the Deputy People & OD Lead and working closely with the directorate operational teams. Successful candidates will use initiative, self‑motivation and self‑direction, to manage own case loads, priorities and demands to ensure that work is delivered on time and meets quality and assurance standards.

You will have a key role in supporting People & OD and the Trust to deliver the ambitions of the People Plan, providing operational advice and specialist knowledge on all Employee Relations and Terms & Conditions related matters.

Provide a comprehensive, high quality service focusing significantly on reducing sickness absence, delivering the timely conclusion of employee relations matters and supporting organisational change processes.

Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.

Established in 2005, we were one of the first foundation trusts in the country and since then have consistently achieved the highest levels of care for patients.

We now employ around 4,800 staff and currently provide 444 hospital beds across the Gateshead region.
