Job summary

Cura Terrae Water is seeking a People Manager – Field Services in Sheffield to lead Field Engineers and Water Survey Teams. Hybrid role, balancing 80% office-based work with 20% field activity, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews and wellbeing.

You'll collaborate with Operational and Technical Managers to deliver safe, high-quality field projects, drive continuous improvement, and support career progression within a growing environmental services group.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing large field-based teams
• Experience in a field-based supervisory or management role
• Background within the water, utilities, environmental or related sector desirable
• Experience coordinating people, resources and schedules across multiple projects or activities
• Experience identifying and implementing operational improvements
• Strong understanding of performance management and employee development practices
• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant business systems

People Manager – Field Services

Location: Sheffield (Hybrid, 80% office-based and 20% field-based)

Type: Permanent

Salary: £40,000 per annum

We're looking for a People Manager – Field Services to join Cura Terrae Water. This is a key leadership role responsible for the direct management, development and wellbeing of our Field Engineers and Water Survey Teams. Working closely with Operational and Technical Field Managers, Programme Managers and Project Managers, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our field operations are safe, efficient and delivered to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will bring strong people management experience, a passion for developing others, and a proven ability to lead large field-based teams in a fast-paced operational environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience managing, recruiting, onboarding and performance-managing large teams of field-based employees
• Experience in a field-based operational, supervisory or management role
• Background within the water, utilities, environmental or a related sector is desirable
• Experience coordinating people, resources and schedules across multiple projects or operational activities
• Experience identifying and implementing operational improvements
