Job description

About EatClub

At EatClub, we believe restaurants and bars are the beating heart of every city’s culture. Whether it's discovering a hidden gem, grabbing a late-night takeaway, or meeting friends for a drink, our mission is simple: help the hospitality industry thrive through smart, powerful tech.

Our platform helps over 4 million customers discover top restaurants and access real-time deals that save them up to 50% off the bill. We empower more than 8,000 venues to fill empty tables, increase foot traffic, and maximise revenue.

Recently ranked #11 on the 2025 Deloitte Tech Fast 50! #1 app in Food & Drink and awarded Australia's Fastest Growing Tech Company by the AFR in 2025. Now is an exciting time to join our team. Initially co-founded by Marco Pierre White and leaders in the food tech scene, we're now a 150+ person scaleup that's growing fast and making waves in the industry.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us
  • Be part of an innovative company shaping the future of dining
  • Autonomy, flexibility, and a collaborative culture
  • A passionate team who values creativity, hustle and results
  • Access to some of the best restaurants and hospitality leaders in the industry
  • Chance to own the UK market and leave your mark
A Day-in-a-Life of our People & Culture Generalist

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced People & Culture professional to do their most impactful work yet. Our People & Culture Generalist is the glue to all the talent and people-related initiatives at EatClub. As a people-first organisation, it is your job to make sure that all employees have what they need to make their maximum contribution to the company. You will work as a GM partner in the local UK market as a part of the global P&C team across a number of projects, including our internal programs, coaching and supporting team leaders, and managing our workspaces in a way that is both impactful to business growth and cost-effective. You bring the structure and the vibe in equal measure.

What you’ll own

Your week will span four key areas:
1. People Partnering:

You’ll be the go‑to for our leaders and managers when they need a sounding board, a coach, or someone to help them navigate a tricky people situation. From implementing performance frameworks and doing talent reviews to navigating performance conversations, team planning, and organisational effectiveness, you’ll help our leaders make confident, values‑aligned decisions.

2. Office Operations & Community:

EatClub isn’t just a team; it’s a community. You’ll be the engine behind our London office experience and team rituals: our All Hands, Friday Afternoon Drinks, Lunch & Learns, team lunches, and the day‑to‑day rhythms that make our workplace somewhere people want to be – including running the space, organising team travel and maintaining our compliance and efficiency standards high!

3. Recruitment

You’ll be key contributor to the growth in the UK. This means setting up new roles, coaching hiring managers through the process, screening candidates, owning the candidate experience from first touch to offer, and helping us evolve our recruitment program as we scale. You’ll bring structure and warmth to every part of the funnel.

4. People Programs & Internal Initiatives:

You’ll help design our global P&C initiative and run our internal programs in the UK end‑to‑end: onboarding, learning & development, compensation cycles, feedback programs, team building, and engagement initiatives. You’ll be the person who turns a strategy into something people actually feel.

Type of projects you’ll be working on…

Here are some examples:

  • People & Culture backbone: We are counting on your professionalism and discretion to help drive strategic People & Culture projects forward, including compensation, feedback, team building, engagement initiatives and organisational development.
  • Leadership Support & Partnering: being the strategic liaison between team leaders and senior leadership and the People & Culture function. You will coach leaders and help them manage employee relations and talent planning. You will also use data‑driven insights to improve performance, culture, and organisational effectiveness in partnership with our GM.
  • Internal Programs: The People Team is tasked with the UX of the internal EatClub team. We look after everything from Induction and onboarding to training and development, to team events and celebrations.
  • Rituals: building engaging remote and in‑person experiences that reinforce our values, bring people together and help them do their best work. On any given week, you’ll be working with the GM on the UK All Hands, organising a Lunch and Learn in our London office, liaising with our co‑working space management to ensure the best in‑office experience, and managing the success of our Friday Afternoon Team Drinks!
  • Recruitment: Playing a key part in keeping the recruitment program running, from screening to candidate comms, to coaching our hiring managers through the process, directed and supported by the global team.
The must haves…
  • 3-5 years of experience in recruitment, and/or HR business partnering
  • A background in a hyper‑growth environment, ideally in the tech space
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on managing up and down (stakeholder management).
  • A sixth sense about prioritisation - you can tell what’s urgent, what’s important, and what can wait
  • The power to produce great experiences - both internally and externally - with a limited budget and timeline.
  • The ability to communicate with patience, kindness and clarity both in person and in writing.
It would be extra awesome if you also had:
  • Experience with lean startup methodologies, human‑centric design, and/or working in environments with limited resources.
  • Dexterity with online tools (Notion, Confluence, Employment Hero, Workable, Google Suite, etc).
  • Enthusiasm and experience for making workspaces effective and fun!
Your mindset and strengths:
  • A master of spreadsheets and Google Suite tools.
  • Able to start a project with limited information.
  • Excited to take the next step in your business management, people, or human resources career.
If you do a good job:

This is a role where doing a good job is visible and rewarding. Similar roles at EatClub have been remarkable career springboards because they showcase a rare combination of strategic thinking, operational precision, and human touch that stands out in any organisation.

In your first 90 days, you’ll have owned your first full recruitment campaign, built strong relationships with EatClub’s leaders, and put your stamp on at least one People program or ritual. Within 12 months, you’ll be the voice of the People & Culture team in the UK, shaping how EatClub grows its culture as it scales.

Maybe this role is not for you if….
  • You get overwhelmed working on multiple projects simultaneously. This role moves fast and requires context‑switching.
  • You prefer to operate solo rather than as a connector between teams, functions and people.
  • You need high levels of structure and direction to do your best work.
  • Uncertainty makes you uncomfortable. Startups deal with ambiguity every day, and this role sits right at the centre of that.

One last note: even if you feel that you don’t meet all the criteria above, we encourage you to apply. Past work experience is not the only indicator of future success, and we are on the look out for hungry talent who wants to grow with us. So if you want to be a part of something remarkable, then we’re excited to hear from you. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities. If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know.

EatClub is committed to building diverse, balanced teams. We warmly encourage applications from people of all genders who are excited about creating inclusive workplaces.
