The role
As a People Capability Growth Lead, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This role offers a unique chance to influence the future of nuclear engineering at Babcock. You will focus on ensuring adequate arrangements for people, processes and tools to facilitate engineering delivery throughout the Nuclear sector.

Day-to-day, you'll be facilitating and supporting improved engineering delivery throughout the Nuclear Sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage strategic recruitment to address skills issues and increase capability.
  • Coordinate STEM outreach and academia engagement.
  • Develop and implement efficient outsourcing arrangements.
  • Facilitate relationship building within and outside the sector to capitalise on collaboration opportunities.
  • Identify and lead sector-wide improvement projects.
  • This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

    Essential experience of the People Capability Growth Lead

  • Extensive experience in engineering and engineering management or leadership.
  • Strong understanding of the Intelligent Customer function and related legal/regulatory expectations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all organisational levels, including with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective people management and social skills, recognising the importance of people in the success of the engineering business.
  • Proactive, self-starter capable of identifying and executing actions/activities with minimal support.
  • Qualifications for the People Capability Growth Lead

  • Degree level or higher in engineering or a relevant people capability field.
  • Chartered professional status in engineering (CEng) or a relevant people capability field, or actively working towards it as part of continuous professional development.
  • Security Clearance
    The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
