Job description

JOE & THE JUICE is a people-centric food and beverage company built around culture, not just juice, sandwiches, coffee, and much more. When joining us, you step into a high-energy community where the music is loud, the bar is your stage, and your personality matters as much as your skills.

We believe in four simple virtues that shape everything we do:

  • Inclusion
  • Growth

For us, this means that when you choose a cup-half-full mindset, welcome people from every background, build real friendships across the bar by creating great guest experiences, and use every shift as a chance to learn something new — you become more than just a Juicer; like us, you continue to search and find purpose and meaning in what you do.

From your first day, you’ll be part of an international network of Juicers who support each other, celebrate wins together, and push each other to grow. You will learn by doing, move through a clear Moneyball career path, and be part of a company where most leaders have earned their stripes behind the bar (fun fact: over 75% of our employees started as Juicers!).

If you love fast-paced service, music, people, and the idea of turning a job into a lifestyle, JOE can become a place to build skills, friendships, and a career that can take you across cities, countries, and roles.

Your Mission

This is a senior, trusted role at the heart of JOE & THE JUICE UK&I's People team, the person Regional Directors and District Managers turn to when the stakes are high. Based in London or the North, the role sits within the People team, working closely with the Talent team and holding a dotted line into the People Advisors based centrally. Reporting to the People Director (UK&I), this role blends commercial thinking with deep people expertise, leading on everything from employee relations and succession planning to coaching leaders and driving engagement. It combines strategic partnership with Regional Directors with hands‑on coaching of District Managers and Store Managers, ensuring culture and performance always work together. As the region continues to grow, there's real scope to shape succession pipelines, strengthen engagement, and build the next generation of JOE leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve succession planning and talent mapping across the region, partnering with the Talent team to build a live pipeline of future leaders.
  • Translate the UK&I people strategy for your region, aligning people plans to support regional growth
  • Acting as strategic partner to the Regional Director - supporting the development of their teams and supporting people performance.
  • Build and scale retention action plans, using Store Manager exit interview insight to address the real reasons people leave.
  • Design and manage engagement survey analysis for the region, partnering with operational leaders on meaningful action plans.
  • Lead employee relations across the region, providing expert guidance on complex cases and ensuring consistent, fair outcomes.
  • Oversee and improve store performance through people insight, diagnosing issues and working with leaders on targeted action.
  • Ensure compliance with people policies across the region, applying them consistently and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Partner with the Talent team on acquisition priorities and pipeline planning for the region.
  • Drive coaching and development of District Managers and Store Managers, building their people leadership capability over time.
What You'll Bring
  • Significant HRBP or senior people generalist experience, ideally in a multi‑site retail or hospitality environment.
  • Hands‑on experience managing complex employee relations cases independently.
  • A defining capability for coaching and developing operational leaders.
  • Familiarity with succession planning and talent management frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels.
  • CIPD qualified, or equivalent experience, with strong commercial literacy.
  • Fluent in English - other languages are a bonus!

We offer a benefits package that includes a paid pension plan, health insurance, parental leave, and additional vacation. Besides that, we provide some JOE-ified benefits:

  • Our UK office is based in the centre of Oxford Circus where over 40 friendly faces come together each day.
  • 95% off Joe & the Juice when working on shift and 50% off when your not working.
  • At JOE, we embrace a flat hierarchy that values every opinion, creating a welcoming space for your ideas and suggestions to thrive.
  • Join us for our lively monthly social calendar filled with fun activities like running club, wine tasting, creative evenings, and Friday bars‑there's always something exciting happening!
  • As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to take on a BTC (Behind the Counter) shift in one of our bars twice a year, adding a unique touch to your experience.
