The role will be to provide a proactive, professional, and comprehensive People service to both team members and managers.

About Fletchers Solicitors:

Fletchers is a rapidly growing law firm specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence law. We are based in the North-West of the UK, with offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, & Southport, although many of our colleagues work from home as Fletchers offers Hybrid working. We offer a great work-life balance, fabulous benefits, apprenticeships, and internal progression. We have a great culture and people that will support you and your goals.

Fletchers Group is an inclusive employer with a diverse workforce, welcoming applications from all backgrounds. We’re committed to providing a culture where everyone can thrive. We’re proud of our work on the Disability Confident scheme and are signing up to other diversity standards to reflect our ethos.

Main Responsibilities for the role:
  1. Provide an effective and efficient HR and recruitment service to managers and team members
  2. Work with managers to manage the recruitment process for a caseload of vacancies
  3. Contribute to the development and delivery of procedures for maintaining and managing employee and general data, including supporting our PeopleHR HR Information System and associated processes
  4. Follow a case management approach to track employee relations issues
  5. Support managers with dealing with performance management issues and processes, helping them conduct performance improvement processes (PIP) for individuals where appropriate
  6. Work with specific managers to provide them with proactive advice and guidance on HR issues
  7. Contribute to the monthly payroll process as necessary
  8. Participate in HR and recruitment aspects of organisational change programmes
  9. Ensure the People Policies Handbook is kept up to date
  10. Provide data and reports as required
  11. Any other duties commensurate with the role

The above list is not exhaustive of any other tasks, which may be required.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Generalist HR knowledge and experience (including recruitment, performance management, and general HR management principles)
  • Proactive approach, with the ability to identify issues and develop solutions
  • Strong organisation skills: able to plan and co-ordinate work within the team and deliver on time
  • Excellent ICT skills (particularly Microsoft Excel) with a positive approach to technology
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Level 5 CIPD qualification (or equivalent) or working towards
  • A legal sector background is not required; however, experience of working in professional services would be beneficial

We reserve the right to close this role before the date specified depending on the calibre and volume of candidates.

In return Fletchers can offer:
  • 35 hours working week
  • Bonus scheme (subject to targets being met)
  • 35 days holiday a year including bank holidays and Christmas Closure. You also have an option to purchase up to 3 extra days’ holiday per year, until you reach the long service award of 3 days after your 5th, 7th, and 9th full years of employment
